Announced in a press conference this afternoon, Brady Hoke will not be returning to the University of Michigan football program in 2015. Each year as head coach, Hoke posted fewer wins, finishing with only 5 this year and failing to make a post-season bowl. During the press conference, interim athletic director Jim Hackett was complimentary of Hoke and would not give the specifics on why exactly Hoke was being fired, only that it wasn’t “just about wins and losses.” Hackett also gave no answer on who is being interviewed for the job now, but did say the coordinators and assistants who still are under contract will have the opportunity to re-interview for their jobs once a new head coach is hired.
