Just looking at the 40 times for these guys makes me worried for Matt Stafford and his back ups. We’ve got a brand new set of defensive ends just looking to take home a sack lunch, and some of these guys have the speed to do it.

  1. Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) – 4.53
  2. Jackson Jeffcoat (Texas) – 4.63
  3. Dee Ford (Auburn) – 4.67
  4. Marcus Smith (Louisville) – 4.68
  5. James Gayle (Va Tech) – 4.70
  6. Chris Smith (Arkansas) – 4.71
  7. Kareen Martin (North Carolina) – 4.72
  8. Will Clarke (West Viriginia) – 4.77
  9. Demarcus Lawrence (Boise State) – 4.80
  10. Scott Crichton (Oregon State) – 4.84
  11. Trent Murphy (Stanford) – 4.86
  12. Ed Stinson (Alabama) – 4.87
  13. Michael Sam (Mizzou) – 4.91
  14. Kony Early ( Mizzou) – 4.92
  15. Josh Mauro (Stanford) – 5.21

Just to say it, Jadeveon Clowney, by having an outstanding 40 time, has set himself up to be the greatest defensive #1 pick in the NFL. He had a terrible year, showing a lack of discipline and drive. He’ll be drafted early, but unless he get’s his head right, he’ll be out of the league faster than he runs his 40 yr dash.
