During an interview this week, Raven’s safety Matt Elam starting talking about his match up with Calvin Johnson. Elam said, “He’s pretty old, so I don’t know how physical he’ll be, he’s a big guy, but he’s older. I guess when they get older they’re not going to be as physical, you know what I’m saying? We’re going to have to be physical, make him uncomfortable.”

It seems that Matt Elam doesn’t realize that Johnson is arguably the best receiver in the NFL right now, and may someday become the best receiver in the game ever. It also seems he forgot what happened when the Packer’s lineman Josh Sitten insulted the Lions before the Thanksgiving Day game. The Lions take insults very personally and beat the Packers 40-10. Or how about when Dez Bryant decided he was the best receiver in the league? Lions only beat the Cowboys 31-30, but Johnson set the record more most reception yards by a player in regulation and second most yards in a game ever.

I hope that Matt Elam is ready, because he just opened Pandora’s Box.
