After all the excitement of last week, I”m not sure this weekend can match up, but where is what I’m looking forward to:
Thursday Night: Texas @ Iowa State
I typically spend Thursday evenings watching the NFL, but I’ll be switching between the Bills @ Browns and Texas @ Iowa State. I’m pretty sure if they lose, we can expect to see Mack Brown retire or be retired before next week. Not that I want anyone to lose their job, but Texans love their football…
Saturday noon:
#7 Louisville @ Temple
Betting lines have Louisville winning by 34. The Cardinals have a solid defense and a huge passing attack, Temple just doesn’t. In my mind, this one plays out like a video game, with the difficulty has been set to rookie.
Saturday Afternoon:
Georgia Tech @ #14 Miami
Miami’s first ACC opponent of the year, we’ll see if they are the real deal or just the recipient of favorable early rankings. GT has a solid ground attack while Miami is well balance on offense and both teams boast tight defenses, this should be a competitive game to the end.
Saturday Evening:
#10 LSU @ Mississippi St
After last week’s loss to Georgia, I imagine the Tigers are ready to put up 50 points on their next opponent, who happen to be the Mississippi State Bull Dogs. Beating Troy last week 62-7, the Bulldogs have shown they have the weapons to put up serious numbers, but Troy’s defense doesn’t stack up well with LSU. This game could be over in the first quarter if Mississippi State doesn’t come ready to play.
Saturday Late night
#4 Ohio State @ #16 Northwestern
We could be watching a potential B1G Championship match up as the Buckeyes head to Illinois to clash with the Wildcats. While both teams have similar run dominate offenses, they have been scoring plenty so far this year. The question going into the game will be if Northwestern can put up enough points to beat the Buckeyes.
